How this site uses WoofID

Woof Events is an example of a WordPress site that uses WoofID for sign-in and for reputation-gated registration. This page explains what happens with your data.

Signing in

There are no passwords here. You sign in with WoofID over OpenID Connect. If you’re already signed in to WoofID, opening an event page signs you in here too, without a click.

What we store

Your WoofID ID, your email address if WoofID shares one, and your wallet type. We also ask WoofID for your wallet address (the wallet:read permission), because reputation is looked up by address. Your registrations and tickets are stored on this site.

Reputation

Some events need a minimum WoofID reputation. When you register for one, we read your current reputation from WoofID’s public lookup and compare it with the event’s minimum. We keep the number for five minutes so we don’t ask WoofID too often. You can grow your reputation on WoofID.

Who can see that you’re going

Nobody else. Event pages show how many people are going, never who. Your ticket is visible only to you and to the door staff who scan it.

Waitlists

When an event is full you can join the waitlist. When someone cancels, the first person in line who meets the event’s minimum gets the seat automatically. If your reputation has dropped below the minimum, you keep your place and the seat goes to the next person.

Check-in

Each registration gets a QR code. Door staff scan it and press Check in. A ticket works once.
